I believe that each client in unique and I am always interested in learning about a person in order to help them in their journey.

I am passionate about the therapeutic process and am constantly learning in order to help my clients. I approach each client by recognizing and honouring their uniqueness both in their situation and who they are as a person. I work from this perspective in my practice. I work with a client to better understand themselves, whatever brings them to therapy, and how change certain behavioural/thought patterns. I use a variety of modalities but specifically practice from an Attachment focused Perspective.

In December 2018, I made the decision to move to Israel. At the time, I moved my practice to online. Then, in 2020, the whole world went online when COVID-19 threw our day to day living into an upheaval. Since then, I continue to have an online private practice seeing clients online exclusively in Ontario.

I have a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario and certificates in attachment focused adult psychotherapy, trauma recovery, and trauma counselling from the Sick Kids CCMH Learning Institute (previously Hincks-Dellcrest Centre) in Toronto. I also have an Honours BA in Sociology from The University of Western Ontario.

I am registered and in good standing with both the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

My Back Story

I began my social work career in Child Protection Services at The Catholic Children’s Aid Society and Jewish Family and Child Services in Toronto, Ontario as well as Ahava Children and Youth Village in northern Israel. At these agencies, I gained depth of experience and understanding working with diverse populations. I held several different positions throughout my time in Child Protection which gave me the opportunity to experience a variety of cases, circumstances, and challenges. Child protection work was a fundamental contribution to the practitioner I am today.

After many years in Child Protection, I shifted my focus and started working as a psychotherapist. I began my career treating eating disorders at a private eating disorder clinic in Toronto, Ontario and, not long after, I opened my own private practice. Today I work with clients who suffer from anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, and disordered eating.

Please feel free to reach out and ask any questions about my approach to therapy, my rate, location, or any other questions that you may have.

Why I do what I do

As a therapist, I often get asked how I feel about therapy and why I chose this as my career. Even after so many years, my answer remains the same: I think therapy is a beautiful way for people to learn about themselves and I am honoured to get to do this with them.

I believe in 2 basic fundamental aspects when it comes to therapeutic healing and the right partnership: I believe you have to like your therapist and believe they can help you. Anyone who has worked with me will have heard me say this but I believe it to be true to the foundation of any grounded and trusting therapeutic relationship. I love what I do. I am honoured that I am chosen to help someone and be a part of their journey of healing.

Getting to facilitate and witness the connections an individual makes and the understanding they develop about themselves in our work together is powerful. I feel a profound sense of honour to earn the trust of someone and work, using the security in our relationship, to unlearn destructive beliefs and understand how belief system and patterns come to be in our life. We work together to work through trauma and how this impacts the way an individual thinks, behaves, and believes.
